International Wine Competition in Ljubljana is considered as the oldest international wine competition in the world. Although not the part of a wine region, Slovenian Capital is truly wine dedicated city and the most important wine market in the country. Earning the title  ‘The City of Vine and Wine’ in 1987 , granted by OIV (L’Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin) in Rome has not been easy, but it was well deserved. Ljubljana is going through wine renaissance boasts a vibrant food and wine scene. Wine bars and restaurants with extended wine lists are emerging and numerous competitions and fairs are attracting more and more visitors from all over the world.
