Modra Frankinja – Blaufränkisch Festival – Sevnica, South-Eastern Slovenia

Modra Frankinja Festival – Blaufränkisch is an event solely dedicated to this exceptional but sometimes overlooked grape variety. Blaufränkisch is a popular grape across the wine regions in central Europe. In Slovenia, it is especially cherished in the south and east of the country. Interestingly, the German name of this variety Lemberger supposedly originates from the municipality Lemberg in Eastern Slovenia.
The event takes place in the beautifully preserved Medieval Caste Sevnica and includes tastings, culinary delights, guided tour of the castle and interesting art program.
